There are two different CCSS aligned character analysis/character sketch graphic organizers in this 31 page PDF download. There is an organizer for almost every character in William Shakespeare’s drama, “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.
The first organizer asks students to identify if the character is round or flat, static or dynamic, an antagonist or a protagonist, and the character’s main conflict. After students identify these qualities, they also need to provide textual evidence and an explanation. This organizer also asks students to illustrate the character using details from the text.
The second organizer asks students to trace a characters emotions and motivation from the beginning to the end of the novel. There is also a small space designated for students to illustrate the character’s emotions, wants, needs, or motivation.
Both of these organizers are differentiated for ESL students, and struggling readers. However, they can also be used in regular and honors classes.
