Help your students learn how to conduct peer editing that actually works! Not only will students receive better feedback on their own papers, but they will also benefit from reading their peer’s papers as well.

This peer editing resource includes the following contents:

• An 18-slide, EDITABLE PowerPoint presentation for peer editing instruction

Your students will love working their way through the entire writing process by completing these peer editing stations. Students will be engaging with one another, reading their peers’ papers with focus, and will learn how to think like an editor in the process.

My favorite way to use this resource is to use it as a whole-class rotations activity. When I complete this peer editing activity in my classroom, every single student starts on station 1, and we work through it together. Then, I have my students switch papers and move on to the next station at the same time.

Prep is quick and easy… Just print out the recording sheet and reflection sheet (I like to do so double-sided) and project the presentation on your overhead. You can also print out the station signs for each table group.

4. Compliments and Suggestions

For station 4, I’ve provided students with a variety of feedback sentence starters to help students provide meaningful feedback to their peers.
