Using Google Forms as an assessment and information-gathering tool provides teachers with two distinct bonuses: first, Google Forms are completely editable. You can tailor this Form to your specific needs. For example, to make the Form more personable, switch out “teacher” with your name. Secondly, Google Forms provide teachers with real time data that is organized into colorful charts and graphs.

This infographic class syllabus is completely editable and comes as a PowerPoint document. I’ve also included a page of instructions that include links to the free fonts you will need to purchase. The instructions also include pictures to show you how to edit the information in the pie chart.

There are four slightly different first pages. The syllabi pages include categories for course information, grading, tardy policy, cell phone, academic dishonesty, attendance, letters of recommendation, and digital classroom information. There are five different options for the 2nd page, the signature page. This page includes a space for student and guardian initials, as well as a signature. The bottom half of the paper includes a variation of a limited-use restroom pass, homework passes, and even blank space for you to include your own information (sometimes I like to include a movie permission slip here).

With this resource, you will need to have access to Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. You will also need to be able to download and install free fonts and change information in Excel to create a graph in PowerPoint. “

These bell ringers are designed to align your students into more of a growth mindset so that they can accept failure, learn from mistakes, and realize their true potential.

Each slide contains a bell ringer with a growth mindset quote and a writing prompt. The bell-ringers include a variety of CCSS-strand writing prompts: argumentative, informational, and narrative.

This download includes a Google Slide that contains:

– 6 weeks worth of thought-provoking bell ringers or daily writing prompts.

– A link to a digital recording sheet. Upon clicking on the link, students will make their own copy of the recording sheet.

SMARTePlans are a great way to go digital, support remote learning, and save paper!

Get to know your new students with a digital Back-to-School Welcome Stations activity! This activity is ideal for grades 6-12, and it works for ANY subject area.

This resource runs on Google Slides and is fully customizable for your classroom needs.

STATION 1

Get to know your new students with a digital class survey. This survey (Google Forms) includes questions about students’ interests and well as their access to technology for distance learning. Teachers can edit and customize the survey to fit their individual needs.

STATION 2

Get students acquainted with your class accounts you’ll be using in your class during the school year. This station comes with an editable class account information sheet that you will share with your students. Students will record the account, login information, and sign up for their accounts.

STATION 3

This is a syllabus scavenger hunt. Upload your syllabus (teacher syllabus not included) to the included student Slides. Students read through the document and complete a scavenger hunt form when they read, find, and record important syllabus information.

STATION 4

Introduce yourself to your new students by creating and sharing a digital nameplate. Then, share your nameplate with your students and have them create their own. This will allow the class to get to know one another.

*There is prep work with this resource! In order for teachers to have access to all of the files and customize this resource to suit their individual class needs, teachers will need to link some of the documents to the student slide page. This resource includes directions on how to link files in Google Slides.

Engage your students the first week of school with a back to school stations activity that will help you and your students get organized for the new school year.

This resource comes with an editable PowerPoint presentation so that you can customize the stations to suit your classroom needs.

STATION 1

Back to School Student Survey – In this station, students complete a survey that will help you get to know them more. For this digital classrooms, I also included a link to a digital Google Forms survey.

STATION 2

Class Tech Accounts – This station is all about helping you and your students organize all of your tech accounts. In this station, students will copy down the required tech accounts and their sign-up codes for your class. This station comes with a customizable template for you to easily organize all of your accounts for your classroom. You can even print it out and staple it on the wall for easy student access throughout the year.

STATION 3

Course Syllabus Scavenger Hunt – In this station, your students will read through your course syllabus in small groups and then find and record important information on a course syllabus one-pager. This station comes with a customizable recording sheet so that you can have students record the information that is most essential for your class.

STATION 4

Book Recommendations – As an English teacher, I am always trying to encourage a love of reading in my classroom. In this station, students complete a book spine and recommend a book to their peers. You can then have students cut out their book spines and use them as a classroom book display. You could also use this station as a book preview station where students either look at the course readings for the year, or they select an independent reading novel.

Please Note: The editable stations template included in this resource is for personal classroom use only and may not be used as a commercial template. You will need to download and install the font LEMON/MILK for this resource to look the same.

This digital resource runs on the Google Slides platform and includes an engaging slide deck for students to complete as they set short-term and long-term personal and academic goals.

After setting their goals, students will then come up with an action plan and brainstorm a to-do list of actionable items that will help them reach their goals.

Conclude this assignment with a reflection paragraph.
